This was my third trip to the south of France and I specifically wanted a tour that would include Les Carrieres des Lumieres and Arles. David was not only fluid and conversant in both English and French, but knew the details of Van Gogh’s history and suffering as well as he knew the Roman ruins and the history of the Camargue, the olives, the horses, and the gypsies of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mere. I have been to the south of France several times and will return again, and will look to book Provence Panorama for whatever tour takes my fancy the next time. Thank you for a truly charming and informative experience.
This bunch of mullets cancelled our tour a couple of days before departure. This leaves you no time to sort out alternatives. A wasted day. They said the vehicle had a problem. Their web site boasts about the number of vehicles they have. There are lots of other good tour operators, rather choose them.
Would give zero stars if I could! Clearly a very poorly managed company that is trying to scam people visiting Provence. Our tour guide could barely speak English and didn’t know any historical information about Provence or any of the specific stops we were going to. She even went so far as to say one of the other patrons knew more about the area than her and she was just following her colleague in the other van (not knowing where we were going). The day started off by the tour guides combining our tour with a large family that had specifically reserved two vans for themselves. We were 45 minutes late to leaving for our first stop which reduced the amount of time we were able to explore for the rest of the day. Beyond not providing any interesting information about the area, there was no transparency on what stop was next (they went completely out of order from the itinerary). If they weren’t going to be informative tour guides the least they could do was handle the logistics and manage the tour timeline. Instead they reduced all of our time at each stop and even skipped a stop where they were supposed to do a 45 minute walking tour (Saint Remy). When we asked why we skipped the stop the male tour guide became combative and said it’s impossible to do the tour as presented on the itinerary. Essentially you won’t get what you pay for with this tour company so better off booking somewhere else.
We took two tours with this company and they were great. Our guide was named Tiery and he was wonderful. He was so informative and personable. He went the extra mile every time. He explained everything and was so informative. Plus, my wife said he was such a gentleman. We will definitely ask for him next time.
